Arc

So, who's going to Arc? I'm considering going, but I've kind of been out of the roleplaying scene for far too long. Gonna need some people to hang out with and introduce me around again.

I'll make sure to come say Hi. I haven't signed up for anything yet. Possibly should but I am cagey about how much I want to play. Invariably I'll be around for some stuff though.

I'll be there, mostly in the Miniatures area - though I'll be helping aeliel GM Peace Talks on Saturday afternoon.

The after-con party has moved to Smith Street this year, and should also be a good place for getting back into the gaming scene. The last couple of years have seen lots of indie games fans coming out of the woodwork at Arc.

Hmm. I haven't really looked at this year's lineup - usually there's one or two, and they get a handful of players coming up at the end of the convention saying "where do I find more of this stuff?"

Scott and Jye have run official and unofficial "Indie Games Explosions" over the last few years - demo sessions of the suitcase-full of new games they've brought back from the US. This year, Scott and Lon are running a spy game they plan to release at GenCon Oz.

Edit: there's a list of the 2007 indie games here. Last year Scott & Lon ran Dead Metal, which was a survival horror game full of mechanics borrowed from indie titles.
