every hero needs a vacation from saving the world. Do what you must, everyone who is your friend understands. And despite the fact that we don't talk much, I still consider myself your friend.

And why would you think you need to do this? Pardon, but we got enough problems in this life. No need to save everyone else...

Gonna answer both of yall at once ;-)

I should certainly hope we're still friends! Otherwise we have to play football again, and you KNOW what that leads to - only neither of us will have a dorm room to crawl off to, this time. :-P

As for the rest, well, I have always felt a need to serve others if it is in my power. And don't tell me you don't know what I mean. You who have talked me down a number of times and wouldn't let me bullshit myself.

This is more an acknowledgement that until I find whatever the hell it is that I'm lacking, it really isn't within my power to serve. For someone like me who serves as easilly as I breathe, sometimes you have to say out loud that you're not able to help to remind yourself that it's true.

I dunno - I'm really tired and might have missed the point of your question, old friend.

we've gone 'rounds about the costs of being a paladin, as well as the glory. Both in the totally hypothetical sense and specifically about you. i must admit, i am curious to see how the only paladin i know deals with laying down his sword. Good luck with that.

*walks quizically into the room you just left

Wonders what the fuck I'm doing here. Gives a shout of glee and pick up the shiny toy. Run after you to give it back yelling, "Hey, Joe, you forgot your to-..."

as I trip and fall and the sword impales you somewhere important on the body. "Oops"*

*laughs* Yup, that sounds like us. And to Ravyndamaurot, it's about 50% working. The important part is to remember to live for me.
