God, that episode was terrible, wasn't it? Why does she have to know now? Why can't Clana die?

I don't mind her knowing Clark's secret that much, maybe because she knows in the comics. But I do mind that they've used the reveal to further the Clana, because it does severely severely need to die. Grrr. The way they've built up Lana and Clark's relationship, they're making it seem like, no matter who Clark ends up with in the future, the person he should have been with is Lana. And that is so. so. so very wrong. *glowers at Smallville*

And that's the reason why now rankles so much! Lana is officially a martyr, marrying Lex to protect Clark in return. Sheesh...

I actually said those words on my icon to my daughter earlier this season, and after bistyboo1974 heard about it, she iconed it for me!

I'm just very skeptical about the existence, or viability, or ... something ... of the "you never forget your first love" phenomenon. Feel free to wisen me up ...

Well, as a fellow 'Buh wha?' skeptic if the You never Forget your First Love thing, I really don't get the star crossed loved thing in Smallville either.. I don't watch it much -and by the way everyone is so disappointed with it, I'm rather glad- but Lana was one of the reasons I never could get into the show. She was so.. Mary Sueish! gah. And I like comics Lana, it's just the show Lana that irks me...

Well, as a fellow 'Buh wha?' skeptic if the You never Forget your First Love thing

After I wrote that, I started thinking about it more, and I actually realized that I have a couple of older relatives who (if their stories are to be believed, lol) carried a torch for their first loves for a while. So I'll bend and admit it's possible. ^-^

I don't watch it much -and by the way everyone is so disappointed with it, I'm rather gladI almost gave up on it entirely last season because of the bad writing, but after my Superman obsession began, I got remotivated to see it through to the end. I do actually enjoy it now that I'm in to the DCU in general (sort of in the way I enjoy Silver Age crack, lol). It has its good moments, and usually I can overlook its more annoying qualities, but sometimes it's just too damn hard, and silly rants ensue. ;p ( ... )
