Random encounter

I was taking the subway home from work tonight, and I was sitting next to this guy while waiting for the train ... I don't know if he was hitting on me? Insulting me? I don't know, LOL, but we got into the weirdest conversation; it consisted of him speaking entirely in food innuendos, and me giving these really lame responses as if I was taking ( Read more... )

My guess:

This guy was working way too hard to get to that pickup line.

The breakfast one.

Way, way too hard.

You're probably right, Dan! Although I still don't understand how anything involving breakfast can be a pick-up line ... it's so bad, it's not even good for laughs, lol (okay, well, maybe a few ;p).

It actually was more amusing than creepy, lol. Most of the weirdos I've encountered are old desperate-looking guys, which is really creepy, but this guy was college-aged or younger so, yeah ... he was less creepy and more ... someone who thinks he's a hot shot and totally isn't. *grin*

See, right when that first sentence came out of his mouth, you should have gotten up and moved elsewhere. Don't stay around obvious weirdos, especially not in NYC. What kind of stupid, crazy comment is:

>>So I know you're going to be cooking me some Chinese food tonight.

WTF? I find that stupid and insulting. He would have gotten my gas face, and the back of my head as I walked to another seat somewhere else.

I hate strange creepy guys. Must be why I *never* take the subway. LOL

Oh, I always end up talking to the weirdos, lol. Have you ever read White Oleander? There's a character in that that lets a homeless guy smell her hair. That's me! Well ... definitely not to that extreme. But it never occurs to me to brush the crazies off. I am probably far too tolerant--and far too trusting that they're only harmless odd-balls and not dangerously unhinged and/or malicious ...

That's a really.. crazy! lol, well, but even if the guy was totally creepy and weird, I think you handled it great! he must have thought you were a very crazy gal, LOL! When crazy people in the subway think you're crazy, you're rocking it. Go, sister, go!

Also, be careful with the creeps! Kick them in the gonads if necessary! In the meantime, keep them confused *grin*

LOL. I don't know if I handled it great, but no blood was spilled, so I can't say I did terribly either. *grin* And as I was telling summonercat, the guy wasn't actually very creepy ... the old weirdos are creepy, lol, but this guy was our age (possibly younger) so ... somehow that just made it laughable. He was definitely one of those "too cool for school" types who ... isn't really cool at all. ^-^

In the meantime, keep them confused

Woo! Confusion! Mind games! Mwahahaha! Ahem ... you're right, though, I should be careful. :) I trust people at all the wrong times ...

*giggles a lot* I'm always impressed by people who just blithely have conversations with nutcases...it always seems to throw them, because they want to make you nervous. It always succeeds with me. :) But I have friends who will just pretend there's nothing out of the ordinary and go along, and it always makes me giggle madly. :)

It does? lol. How come I never get the crazy people who can be thrown off? Mine just keep on going regardless. *pouts* Not that I'm trying to throw them; it just never occurs to me not to respond, lol. I'm just like, oh, this person wants to talk! Annnddd ... they're saying really weird things, but too late to back out now! ^-^

it always makes me giggle madly.

Whee! It can be really amusing, as long as the nutcase in question is more crazy than creepy. *giggles madly along with you*
