You seem to have a theme here. :]

Makes me think of muichimutso.

"If you see the Buddha, kill the Buddha. Bound my nothing, you are free of everything."

Now, if only I knew how to do this...

I do! lol. The quotes do get a little repetitive, but I couldn't find any other ones that spoke to me as strongly. ^-^ I used to be into Buddhist philosophy; I've lost touch with it lately but I guess it leaves its mark. :)

Makes me think of muichimutso.

Although apparently I wasn't into Buddhist philosophy as much as I'd thought! I had to turn to Google to find out what muichimotsu meant (and was intrigued to find out it seems to be significant in Saiyuki?); I'd heard the proverb before but never knew the name to go with it. But yes, the basic idea behind that appeals to me greatly, and is partly responsible for my little meme theme here. *grin*

Now, if only I knew how to do this...

LOL. It is certainly easier said than done. XD I'm rather attached to being attached to certain things, which is quite the predicament. ^-^ I guess that's partly where meditation comes in, to bring about a focus on the present moment in spite of one's own resistance to that state of mind ... haven't meditated ( ... )

I think it's only significant in Saiyuki. *laughs* It's where I learned about anything Buddhist related and I loved muichimutso the most. I looked everywhere for it ( ... )

Aha! So that's why I had such a hard time looking it up. :P

Bet you know more about Buddhism than I do. I should probably ask you questions. :P

If you've read a few books on Buddhism, then we probably both know the same amount about it, since that's really all I did. :) Plus, with the elements of Buddhism that I've latched onto, I've probably taken as many artistic liberties as Kazuya Minekura, lol. Even when I like a belief system, I have a bad habit of seeing it only how I want to see it. ^-^

I daydream too much to dare try meditation. They're not as at odds with each other as it might seem. *grin* I also daydream a ton, and when I used to meditate regularly, I eventually learned to switch between the mindsets. Sometimes it didn't work so well, but other times it was really nice, and the daydreams were that much sweeter because I actually got breaks from them (unlike now, hee). It was kind of like ... cleansing your palate with ginger between different kinds of sushi. Or ( ... )

Whoa, these are awesome!

The odds against this sentence having ever being typed, much less the odds against you reading it were inconceivable.

I love what that says about stories, somehow. That every one of them is a miracle just to have been written and be read. 9 and 10 really blow me away too! I'd read the Heinlein quote, but the "die gallantly" still gets me every time.

*dances* You have awesome quote!

Ahh! That never even occurred to me! It reminded me of Jon's speech to Laurie in The Watchmen when they're on Mars (I seem to be looking at everything with my comics glasses on lately, lol ...), so I was thinking of it in terms of life in general, but ... eeee! I love your interpretation! Every fanfic is a miracle! *dances around ( ... )

*hearts #1* Now if only I could follow that advice. :)

And Pooh is my personal guru! LOL. Which reminds me that I really need to read the Tao of Pooh one of these days ...

It really is amazing when you think about it!

It is, isn't it? Life and everything that comes from it, and even just inanimate matter and all of the order that's come out of chaos ... it's so mind-bogglingly (lol) improbable ... if I think about it too much I begin to feel it might not even be real, LOL. Too bad the sense of wonder is hard to hold onto when you're caught up in every day life ... *sigh*
