Why I'll never understand football/soccer. The Swiss were obviously the better team in today's game, no doubt. They won. But I'm baffled over the acceptance of the second point. Completely speechless. So I'll grab a quote by Lee Young-Pyo:

"I’m very upset about the game and I think the second goal was very strange. We all stopped playing because we thought the linesman had flagged. We have to go and prepare for the 2010 World Cup."

Seriously. I watched the game while I was at the dentist, but despite the distraction of the teeth cleaning ma-bob thing, I could see the players dropping their guard. They weren't making excuses. They weren't claiming they were the better players. They were trying to argue why that goal shouldn't be allowed. (Even if he could have made a goal if the other players hadn't stopped, and deserved it. But that's another story! So boo to him. Who is that guy anyway?) Granted, if the rest of the players were miles away from the net, then yeah, I see no point in arguing because they wouldn't have reached to defend anyway. But they were RIGHT. THERE. The Swiss player was just a bit further behind them. :[

I still don't understand why, just because he's the referee, he's more correct than the referee's assistant. Though either way, whatever that was (right or wrong), the guards of the other players were dropped. Even if the goalie continued to defend... although you can't seriously expect him to stand around while the guy was kicking the ball.

But I support the winner, because this was more of a misunderstanding, and Switzerland would have moved on anyway... I think. They scored more than the Koreans did anyway.
