Hinamori Momo

I was discussing HitsuHina and somehow ended up babbling about Hinamori. Some fans dislike this pairing, I assume, because of Hinamori more than Hitsugaya. Plus, Matsumoto WAS always a more amusing person. Personally, I thought Hitsugaya deserved someone better, who was willing to believe in him, and stand by him. Eventually I changed my mind ( Read more... )

I'm not a HitsuHina fan, but it's not because I don't like Hinamori. I just like her better with Kira. I think I'm probably one of the few people who likes that pairing. ^_^ I don't pair Hitsugaya with anyone.

Really? That's interesting, to me, KiraHina didn't seem as evident as HitsuHina did in the series. If you don't mind me asking, why do you prefer the first pairing?

*♥ your icon* Though I prefer Hitsugaya, I like Kira too. I can't imagine how he felt when it turned out, his own captain was working under Aizen the whole time. He and Hinamori certainly have that in common, in addition to the earlier days at school. & Thanks for sharing your point of view!

I think I prefer Kira/Hinamori partly because I saw it first. They seemed like such great friends, until they ended up fighting each other to defend their captains. That dynamic really worked for me. It gave them a very bittersweet kind of feel.

I think Hitsugaya would do anything for Hinamori, but I see them being more like brother and sister. It's how I see Renji and Rukia, too. Well, how I see Rukia's feelings for Renji. I think Renji's got some major unrequited love going on for Rukia. ^_^

XD I think of Renji and Rukia the same way. They're much more sibling like, in my mind, compared to her relationship with Byakuya.

This was wonderful and enlightening. I completely forgot about her being Aizen's subordinate. Even if she didn't have feelings for him (is it right to assume that she was interested in him, romantically?), the mere fact that he's her captain gives her a very good reason to lash at anyone who hurts him, even if that person turns out to be a good childhood friend.

Her devotion runs pretty deep; in the last chapter you sent me, she was begging Hitsugaya to "save" Aizen. I think it might take a while for her to come to terms with the truth. (It's also a blessing, in a way, that she was knocked out and didn't hear Aizen say that he's never really thought of her as his partner. That would probably make her feel like somebody gutted her with a knife.)

Anyway, whatever happens, I hope she overcomes this, both for her sake and Hitsugaya's (I get the impression he spends half of his time looking after her).

Mm. I always felt Hinamori's interest towards Aizen was more "worship" than love. It's very possible that she might have loved him to a certain extent, similar to how a fan adores a celebrity. (This is mostly conjecture.) But it's not very clear. Even previous to Aizen's revelation, they thought of, and treated each other differently. What I mean is, although Hinamori was happy to be able to seek Aizen for emotional comfort and hugs, Aizen responded like Hinamori was a distant younger sister. At least that's how I thought of their relationship. Hinamori was very obvious about being familiar with him, in an appropriate manner. Your guess is as good as mine, on whether there was anything more ( ... )
