Hachikuro episode 12 (final)

I have no idea why the pictures are stretched.

As for the meaning of the title, besides the obvious (mentioned below), I can't figure out what honey means for the story line. Clover, represents the time and effort Hagu put into searching for each one. Because four leaf clovers are so rare, it's assumed she spent a long, long time. Even though she doesn't have any romantic feelings for Takemoto, he is still very much a treasured friend, and worth the days/weeks/months she spent, looking for each one. Honey I assumed, was something to hold it all together, or to say "you're very sweet." But that's kind of lame and lack poetic nuance.

Some bits and pieces:
- I looked back at some previous posts on hachikuro to see someone asking about a possible third option when faced with unrequited love, one of the few themes throughout the series.
One is to give up, two is to keep trying, and the third was never mentioned. Suggestions included
* watching over the one you love, as a friend, and understanding why it was unrequited
* waiting for them
* still loving the person even though you know they won't love you back (Shuuji→Rika, Ayu→Mayama). The third is identical to the first suggestion, I suppose.
Even though I believe it's suppose to be left for the readers/viewers to decide, Takemoto's decision really summed up the third reason.
& as sad as it will be, I'm glad Hagu picked Shuuji, making it still quite open ended.
- The title, Honey and Clover was from Chika Umino's two favourite albums; Hachimitsu (Spitz) and Clover (Suga Shikao), which is why (?) their songs are so frequent in the anime.
- Mayama was modeled after Suga Shikao. (!!!)
