Thank you for the tips, I'm going to save the link

I know people both have female and male attributes towards things but if I was typing something out if I should say "he" is in the spread where it is about the male, whether or not the card itself shows a male or female persona, if that makes sense?

I'm very fond of the Fairy Tale Tarot by Lisa Hunt ( http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/fairytale-hunt/index.shtml ), The Ancestral Path Tarot by Julie Cuccia-Watts ( http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/ancestral-path/ ), and my absolute favorite has to be the Tarot of the Cloisters by Michelle Leavit ( http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/tarot-of-the-cloisters/ ). Sadly the latter is out of print and as rare as rocking horse dung, but well worth the search ( ... )

Thank you! The ancestral path sounds like it would be very interesting

I am working with a large square deck right now and have trouble shuffling sometimes lol but round cards do sound interesting

This is part of where reading tarot is more of an art than a science. If I felt that the kings were referring to him and the queens were referring to her, I might switch it around.

Another way of reading (and the one I would most likely take) would be to read that couple as the gal as taking more initiative or takes the led more. The guy is more laid back or perhaps more emotional.

Thank you, I think I just need to learn how to read for other people when the different cards come up, on my own I seem to get it more lol

I adapt the wording depending on the feeling I get from the card or cards.

I was told by my "mentor" that tarot readings, if you believe in their honesty and worth are driven by instinct, so that's what I go by...

I love my Gilded Tarot deck... best cards I ever bought!

Any card can refer to any person or any situation. For kings and queens, I view it as the masculine or feminine aspects of the suit, rather than necessarily a man or a woman. Most often, Kings refer to men and Queens to women, but it's not a hard and fast rule.

Also, if you are doing a love spread and no love cards come up, but a lot of wands and major arcana, or say you are answering questions about money, and love cards seem to come up, do you twist the description around, or assume you got the wrong cards? It's hard to say how I'd read that without an idea of the specific cards involved, but I wouldn't think the cards are wrong. Say the five of wands comes up in a love spread, that might indicate that there's a conflict in the relationship, probably based on poor communication. Ace of wands might say that the relationship isn't based only on emotions, that compatibility of goals and ideals has been taken into consideration (or depending on where in the spread it falls, that it SHOULD be). Seven of Wands could be disapproval of the ( ... )

Thank you for the advice, I think I didn't word my post very intellectually because I know I know these things when reading for myself, reading for other people I don't know in person makes me unsure of my answers
