A friend asked me to give her a reading about a deep connection she feels with someone that has authority over her. They tend to work very closely and on a friendship level. She feels that this person has feelings back but is holding them or is serious about them but feels this person doesn't know what to do with them

Actually my first thought was unbalanced disappointment, / ill-placed feelings, neglect through time, restoring balance, bridging what should have been to what should be now. (pulled out my own deck to see what my eyes focus on - on the cards)

I want to caution whoever this is;expressing these feelings either side is risk, and could bring about larger problems that neither one of them is capable of handling. I didn't get a good feeling off this. I can't place the feeling but I didn't get a 'this seems right to pursue' if that is the bottom line question.

I agree. And my friend agrees too and says its difficult because there's something there. But I guess since the high priestess is there, things should stay hidden, no matter how intense things get.

but then again since the high priestess is there things could be revealed? There seems to be a double meaning in this spread and that's why I asked.

I asked the cards again about the high priestess and took it to mean my original interpretation and asked what did she wanted to reveal and got the World, Seven of Wands and the Tower Reversed.

Your friend really needs to examine why they need to pursue this person further. Pain, suffering inner sorrow, breaking down down a false image....

Not to say this is the case - but the only explanation I can find is a more horrific set of images, a person who was killed is reborn (second life) and meets their killer who still is alive..... - I know that this is an extreme case for images, but its that level of intensity, it isn't going to end up good for this person....

So what you're saying is that if my friend pursued this person further they're just going to end up getting hurt?

I am saying your friend is setting themselves up for a significant disappointment, if not hurt if they pursue this. The only other examples that pop to mind are; affair with married person; teacher/teen, boss/coworker types. This has all the makings of ending badly, because the reality isn't the same starting....

sounds like vampkitty has a pretty good tarot-approach to the situation, and I agree with her. My original gut feeling as I was reading your post is that yes, there is something there, but making any movements toward a relationship outside of work could put this person of authority in a difficult position, which ends ugly for both of them. Having been in a situation like this myself, I would warn your friend that at the very least someone could be accused of sexual harassment in the workplace if they tried to take it any further, considering one is in a position of authority.
