Pyrewort Discussion - Post in this thread please.herbal_witchApril 24 2007, 09:39:26 UTC
Mr Visconti and Miss Archer have offered to locate an overseas supplier of pyrewort plants. The current situation of our pyrewort crop is not good. I had hoped we could have saved half of the plants, but the damage has affected so many of them, it is hard to say if we will save more than a few.
Pyrewort is not an easy plant to germinate. I have seeds, and will begin the process again, of course - however, the seeds take over a month to germinate. If floo-powder can be obtained from another source, it will help us to move from safehouse to safehouse, but Miss Granger informs me that the Floostick powder requires modification which can only be made while the powder is being manufactured.
Minerva had the excellent idea of having teachers move from classroom to classroom where possible instead of students, and Mr MacMillan suggested rationing student supplies of the powder. I feel this should be put into effect as soon as possible.

Won't having the teachers move around mean double lessons for those with OWL and NEWT classes? Not that I'm complaining much but it could be a timetabling nightmare. Unless we spent half the time in one classroom and half the time in the other? I expect we need to organise a ration for visits to the library and such like?
But we must certainly conserve floo powder. That's the main thing. Will there be an announcement?

I am not sure that I follow you. The timetable will not change, the lessons will just be in different places, that is all. You do not currently teach OWL and NEWT classes simultaneously.
There will most certainly be an announcement, very soon.

There is NO gossip Pomona. I can assure you of that. Mercer is an irrisistable charmer a typical Frenchman, that is all. I have known him for many years.

While we have a number of efforts underway to prepare us to retake Hogwarts, they have primarily been intended to quell the Dark Lord's troops. Even assuming an overwhelming success with those ventures, we are left with the problem of how to tackle the heart of our opposition. Those who have faced or witnessed the Dark Lord in conflict before know that He is a formidable and relentless duellist, and His inhuman nature makes Him an opponent few could hope to defeat.
As some of you are already aware, I have been working for some time on a potion that I believe offers us a realistic chance of making a direct attack on Voldemort Himself.
I will not claim credit for the initial idea, which was formulated by Hermione Granger. She brought her notes to me earlier in the year, recognising, perhaps, that such a proposal was too important to rely only on her own limited knowledge of Potions

Any other business? - Post in this thread please.www_fgApril 24 2007, 12:51:43 UTC
We've been working on the family clock. While we still don't really understand the spell (or spells) inside, we have worked out how to make it more sensitive, so that we can see what actual degree of Mortal Peril we are all actually in.
The next step is to see if we can adapt the workings so that we can include all Order members, reporting their progress back to the War Room. Miss Archer has kindly agreed to take a look and tell us any ideas she might have.
I don't suppose anyone knows where to lay their hands on a Foe Glass? Even a small piece would do.

And don't think I am fooled by that "accidental spillage" the letter seems to have suffered. Gossip, please.
