So last night I woke up at 2:30 AM.
The first thought in my head was: "Why is hatchingfic not a super popular genre?!"
And then I laid in bed for quite a while trying to figure out why everybody isn't writing fics where fully grown adults hatch out of huge eggs (not wingfic, there were no wings). I thought about writing a fic where Sherlock does this repeatedly, like a phoenix. It'd be a whole trope, like wingfic or werewolves. It would be called hatchingfic. I sent myself a text that said simply, "Egglock," so I wouldn't forget.
I was legitimately baffled that this is not hugely popular. WHERE ARE ALL THE EGGS?
