Oh, this is fantastic. I love the friendship between them, and the ways they need each other, and the comparisons to Matt's dad, and the insanely and beautifully detailed way you express Matt's senses. Both of the characters feel very real and true, and you do an excellent job handling Ben's dilemma, and the problems inherent in a power that's also a disability. Wonderful work.

Despite the fact that Alicia's existence makes me roll my eyes a little in some ways ("Ben looks how he does; let's give him a blind girlfriend!" Subtle as always, Marvel), I do like them together, and I wondered if Ben would go to Matt, his lawyer and likely the only other blind person he knows, for some kind of advice. And then I looove the idea of Ben and Matt bonding over having sort of blue-collar backgrounds. Ben is totally the kind of guy Matt grew up around.
