I've had an insulated last couple of days. I spent the weekend in Victoria and am spending the first few days of this week working from home. I didn't spent much time on Livejournal or Twitter while I was away, so I've been pretty well cut off from the world.

In other words, I just heard about Jack Layton. I think the word I'm looking for is ; ( Read more... )

I think you can get away with it on the grounds that you need something aggressively cheering to help get you up again after the first piece of news.

Also, you're in for a fantastic ride. Iroh only gets better from here.

I watched a few more episodes last night and, man, it's a lot of fun. The perfect mix of light and funny. The perfect antidote to the movie. :P

YOU HAD NOT WATCHED ATLA THAT'S IT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO NOT BE ON AIM TALKING TO ME ANYMORE. Although I am very curious to hear what people have praised in it to you, since I doubt they'd be the same unique features I praise--I mean, overall story, sure, but my praise tends to involve phrases like "attack Hufflepuff," "TOPH IS DISABLED CHARACTER LOVE," and "freakishly good child abuse arc."

LOL, I think most of what third-hand praise for the show I've picked up has been less-specific, that much I'll grant you. I'm taking it slow, so I've only seen to about... er, episode 5? That means I haven't met a number of the characters yet, though it's impressive how many people I seem to recognize from fandom_secrets alone.

Still, it's a lot of fun. I wasn't expecting it to be this light and funny, to be honest. I knew the movie* wasn't a fair representation of the show, but still.

And I will remember to install AIM again. Um. Yes.

* I watched the Rifftrax version.
