Wow, now I'm doubly sad that I didn't make it to this panel because YES. ALL THE THINGS, YES!
I love that this season is returning to the character of the week feel of season 1 (though still with a consistent personal struggle running through it all). As much as I did like the arcs when we were in them, they just seem heavy and painful when I look back now. I have no desire to go and rewatch these last few seasons at all.
The Men of Letters is a great idea and I love that Sam and Dean have a home base now. Dean has his own room! He looked so happy! They have food and weapons and safety for Dean and books and knowledge for Sam and everything is good.
Naomi as Fate. Mind. Blown. It makes so much sense though.
I am also looking forward to a resurgence of fic. I would definitely be interested in a Supernatural Cafe next year!!
I wish we'd met up to talk about SPN there, but, hey, ESCAPADE 24!
I loved the comment that Season 8 is a more mature version of Season 1. It is very much so! I thought the biggest mistake of Season 7 was to make the boys so emotionally distant (Dean) or empty (Sam) that they could not relate. No relating = no drama.
So far in fic, I've read some Benny/Dean and a Dean/memoryfoam/Sam. I'd like to see Sam/sweatervest/Dean!

Hahahaha. Well, I mean, of course. It's Supernatural fandom. Of course that would happen.
