Okay, things were just getting weird. And not the awesome kind of weird, either. The kind where Elle had a very worried Queen on her hands. And because Elle didn't want to let said Queen down, the first thing they'd done that afternoon had been to make a sweep of every area in town that was important to either of them in anyway

Cassidy stepped off the road and into the flowers she was used to seeing. There was something wrong with the land. Trying ti shake of the feeling of wrongness, she stepped back onto the road.

"It's not nice to the land," Cassidy said huskily.

It was entirely possible that the land even agreed with that statement.

But then again, the land had a mind of its own. Maybe it just wanted to shake things up a bit! If it didn't, the hushed whisperers, lurking in the shadows certainly did. Things got boring, after all, if they just stayed the same all of the time.

"Nice is boring," decided a voice that was a few steps off the beaten path, the owner of which was not quite within plain view. It was promptly shushed by more than a few voices to match.

Elle jumped when she heard the voice; who could blame her, really? It'd be a rare person who wasn't jumpy when faced with... well... whatever the hell it was that was going on.

"Who's there?" she called, hands balling into fists at her sides.

Cassidy's head whipped around and she went to stand close to Elle.

"Show your face."
