I had French today and it was soooo hard. We had a long discussion about politics for the whole lesson, the majority of it being in French. You'll be ok, it's just you've been taught different stuff from most of the St Chris' people. At college everyone was completely different standards and some had hardly even done much grammar cuz they all came from different schools, but 15 out of 18 got As in the end.
And anyway if the St Chris' people are good, that means they've been taught well so the teachers should help you too.

I think it's that everyone else in my class is really good at 'conversational' French as it were, you know, just making it up as you go along. However we did hardly any of this for GCSE, it was basically just learning set phrases and stuff.

I don't know, I guess I need to just practice, but it's very overwhelming when you go into a classroom and everyone else is just talking amazingly well about stuff you've never done before. Erg.

It's a big jump from GCSE to A level, but once you've had a few lessons, you get into it and understand more. Dont worry, just give it time. :)

Yeah there are only five people in my class too... I just sat at the edge looking inconspicuous today and it seemed to work.

I like the grammar (yes I know I'm a geek!)

My next lesson is Friday; maybe by then I'll have the guts to say something.
