You should spend your birthday the way you want to. Personally, I can't think of anything better than Star Trek Sunday!!
I only had a night out for my birthday because everyone else wanted to and insisted I had to do something for my 30th. I'm always happy to have a night out so I didn't object, until the Hooters humiliation incident. The thing I'm going to remember about turning 30 is meeting you and Gates!!!
I think it's a mix of worrying that you don't feel special, because they would feel bad if they didn't do anything on their birthdays. In Korea, they don't celebrate birthdays at all. (sometimes people do things that aren't about you, but more about them)
but hey, yay food! sometimes it's nice to have an excuse for food.
