When she is ready for them, posts like this will reach her when you least expect it. Too bad your other kids do not have access to this medium.
I like your viewpoint of Deity. Far more compassionate and flexible than most folks are able to comprehend.
Also - you are very easy to love and care for. You do not, and never have, make yourself into a person you imagine I want to interact with, but you are always you in all your loving self.
I've found that if you can focus meditation in shorter cycles, that helps. If that doesn't work, you can always have someone poke you if you appear to be drifting off. Yeah it might interrupt your meditation for a moment, but it will keep you awake.

Actually, I have found that if I fall asleep during meditation, it's because I needed to be asleep in order to "get the answers". Sometimes, our conscious mind just gets in the way. When we're asleep, that conscious mind that's always on everyday Life stuff is zonked so we're not distracted and are more open to being shown the solutions that our sub-conscious mind already knew. Sometimes it's also a case of the conscious mind not wanting to hear the answers and/or the truth. In essence, we're being childish and going "Lalalalalalalalalala! I can't hear you!" to the diety trying to tell us something so the sub-conscious mind takes over and we go nighty night for a while. I've found that the more you practice prayer and meditation, the less you fall asleep because you become more open to what "God" is trying to communicate to you. Also, the falling asleep thing is an answer in itself: give it a rest and come back to it when you're rested and refreshed. At least for me. *Shrug*
Religion is something that is a mystery-perhaps something that humans are not entirely intended to understand. The teachings that I grew up with (of which there were many) communicated that God is all encompassing and compassionate. God goes by many names: Yahweh, Allah, the Great Spirit to name but a few
