Well, you had a right to ask her. She asked you out in the first place. I seriously don't get why people read so much into their friends' opinions. You're supposed to be there when your friend asks for advice, but otherwise, let them date as they choose and be there to lend a shoulder to cry on if they get their heart broken. And I don't see why her friends would be so hell-bent against you anyway. What have you ever done to them?
