I think it was Doreah in the book. http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Doreah Awoiaf thinks so too. I don't have my first book (someone's reading it) but second book agrees that Doreah died of a horrible wasting disease. Irri lives and only gets involved in pleasuring later.

I think show might be following the book there.

I'm difficult to disappoint. I've been watching the show giddily and am not disappointed with Sansa or little lord Robert (whom I found scary, creepy eyes on that kid). I've thought Lena Heady's gorgeous for a long time...

I'm liking all your dislikes. Damn. Sorry. Ummmm. I have the same amount of "zomg how could you" with Sansa that I had in the book.

I am a more simple watcher of shows. Usually I like and have few complaints.

That probably is the case of my confusion with Irri and Doreah- it has been a little while- and it is- I did a quick search. Oppps. It is funny how we sometimes remember things. I guess was hung up on the spice and perhaps it was that they had given Doreah, Irri's lines about the dragons- I just remember something being off about that whole scene in the show versus the book ( ... )

You're allowed to be a book snob if it works for you. I am more lenient. I enjoy the book, I enjoy the show, just for different reasons. I am a horrible person and prefer Lord of the Rings films to the books because women play a bigger role.

Film has to be quick, in a book you get pages and pages, in a film you have to make Lysa and Robin both nuts in one scene and the breastfeeding kind of did it. (though, I've seen perfectly healthy, normal kids breast feed at 4 or 5 and been unbothered, so that was less odd to me than others)

I like the Star Wars books better than the films, because there's more going on...and I've never read Master and Command because I couldn't psych myself up for a whole book about men. I am sad...
