Their "first time" was just as nerve-wracking as their real first time.
Emily's lips met Naomi's, just like Kat's had met Lily's, there was no difference.
Kat made herself believe - and it was really fucking difficult - that Lily was actually surprised, without that adorable "Oh" look, and that ridiculously heart-warming biting of her lip.
She thought, from Emily's perspective, she'd be ecstatic by now, what with the MDMA-spiked brownies and the general atmosphere of warmth and mischievous doings. Emily would be singing from the rooftops, telling anyone who'd listen about the drug-fuelled (although, not really) kiss.
Kat just sighed, and smiled. As soon as the director yelled "Cut!", the awkwardness and disbelief was gone from Lily's face. She was smiling, her grey-blue eyes twinkling.
"Nicely staged again, Prescott."
"Never miss an opportunity, do I? No better job than this. Except for, you know, being a prostitute. Or a baker."
Lily acted shocked.
"A prostitute? My Kitty? No! You'd never stoop so low."
"I don't know, Loveless. So far, you haven't given me reason enough to quit this career. Well done." Kat beamed.
A warm moment filled the silence. Lily broke it, with a hasty cough.
"Come on, let's get food. The others went ahead already, I said we'd meet them back at the flat."
"Nice of them."
Lily didn't understand the double meaning until much, much later.
--
They ended up at a small Chinese takeaway store. It was a cold night, the windows had misted up, the interior was slightly clammy. They had already called ahead, their order would be ready by now. Kat pulled her purse out of a pocket, when the woman at the counter had called their number.
"No, you. Sit. I'll take this one." Lily grinned at her, laid her her hands on her shoulders stared her down, pleadingly.
"I thought we'd already worked this out, darling."
Lily gasped. "You've forgotten."
"Of course not." Sighing, Kat conceded defeat."Fine. My turn next time, yes?"
"Sure, dearest. Back to the flat?"
"I need to stop at the corner store, but yeah. Need to pick up milk, Megan will kill me if she has her bloody Cheerios dry again."
Smiling, they left the store arm in arm, with their pork fried rice and wontons.

Their shared flat was cold and dark when they arrived. A note had been left on the kitchen bench, written in Kaya's messy scrawl:
We are out, on the town. Will be back late. Kiss scene today was epic. Nicely done, Lils, well done on scoring a hot one!
Love, us.
P.S: Meg says something about cereal.
P.P.S: Meg also says something about how if you're going to do "bad things", not in her bed please.
"Like I'd ever get to it in Meg's bed. Who does she think I am?" Kat mumbles, slightly annoyed.
"Who says we won't?" Lily comes up behind her, and wraps her arms around the shorter girls shoulders. Kat rested her head back on Lily's ollar, contemplating.
"Don't say that, it's very slightly tempting. Just to see her reaction, mind."
They stood like that for a few minutes, waiting for the heaters to start warming up. The flat was small but comfortable, with just enough room for the four girls; the twins, Lily and Kaya, to feel like they had space of their own.
"Ze food is getting cooold."
They sat at the table and ate in relative silence. After a busy day filming, it was actually rather nice to have no noise, no one calling for you in make up, no one telling you to get on set now, and no one telling you that you were "disgraceful young ladies."
"You did good today." Kat said quietly.
"So did you. It was weird, wasn't it? It felt natural as hell, but it was supposed to be the opposite."
"Yeah. That probably was one of the harder things I've had to do, so far. It didn't feel strange or awkward at all. In fact, it took a shitload of mental muscle not to carry on, after we'd stopped."
Kat didn't reply, just smiled softly. She took in Lily's face, as she was trying to pick up the last of her rice. Her flawless porcelain skin, her bright eyes, the way she pursed her lips slightly in concentration.
"I love you, you know."
Lily looked up, and sat frozen for a few seconds. Kat held her breath. It was the first time she'd ever said it, so barely, so plainly.
A smile broke over Lily's face. Her features came alight.
"I'm tired as hell. Come on." Lily got up, stretched in a slightly feline manner and pulled Kat out of her chair.
--
An hour later, when both girls were in their pyjamas, and Lily was hugging Kat from behind, she said it back.
They were watching reruns of Supernatural, even though they were both half asleep.
"Dean is hot, agree?" Kat murmured.
Lily responded by nuzzling her bare shoulder, and laying a very soft kiss on Kat's alabaster skin.
"I love you, and I do want you, whatever Naomi says."
Kat turned over, after a small silence. She smiled at the reference to the words in the script they had yet to act out. Words couldn't convey how much Lily Loveless was making her heart soar.
Kissing Lily's nose, she pulled her into a hug.
"This has been the best one-month relationship of my life, so far. Can we make it to two?" Kat said into Lily's collarbone.
"We can make it as long as we want, Fitch."
