ACTA, SOPA, PIPA and LJ. All the stuff that's happening right now is making me feel really helpless and pushed into a corner. I do not want a complete stranger to be able to censor the thoughts that I write in my own home, that they shouldn't have access to in the first place. anti ACTA petition

I hadn't heard about the LJ stuff D: Why are they doing this!? This is my home! If they want to do massive changes, why doesn't they just start a new site?!

*hugs you* nice to see you again!

I've been here since I were 16 and what they're doing just sucks so much. It seems like when they said that the Release 88 was just the first step they weren't kidding, though I didn't think they were going to take it this far :/
(this new stuff about them taking away the second space for your icons is just as ridiculous as when they took away the subject lines. Yes, it might be 'prettier' but I use that space to credit the icon maker and I'd like to keep it)

I honestly don't think they have any idea of what the people who use LJ want, no one is happy, not the Americans, not the Europeans or Australians not even their new 'core users' in Russia are pleased with this development.

Have you seen this mix yet? Livejournal is broken, that's where I found out about the article. Entertaining as well as educational ^^

*sends another hug*

I've been here three years, which isn't that long compared to some else but it's the longest I've stuck to anything, except maybe MSN.. I don't want any changes, LJ was one site that was perfect. They really are changing the site to fit younger users, or to fit the tumblr users.. maybe they saw how fast that site expanded and wanna do the same? It'll be their downfall I swear.

And to be able to leave credit is a huge part of LJ, there's a million com's that's built up for icons and graphics - of course you want to be able to give them the respect they deserve for their work

The best thing about LJ is that there's a community for everything and that if you don't want to actively participate or have to go offline for a few months you can do that and return without any problems. There isn't that pressure to check every second of the day as it is with some sites.

I was at the movies a few weeks ago and suddenly I saw something bright in the corner of my eye. When I turned around I saw that there was a guy there checking his Facebook while the movie was running...what's the point of paying to watch a movie if you're not going to actually watch it? *shakes head*

I think you might be right :( It's so disheartening reading what the management have done in such a short amount of time

*hugs you tightly* Right now I'm hanging out at both LJ and DW. I'm not that good with changes either so what I'm doing is I'm familiarizing myself with DW and building up a new flist so that if the day comes when I have to leave, I won't have to start over from zero ( ... )
