You have a good point about the hard aspects of neonatal nursing, and i don't have the benefit of great experience in any part of this field yet. I think what troubles me about this is the bigger picture of it all, beyond my opinions of one of two nurses (lots of them are sweet and wonderful--i got to shadow an absolute doll last Monday while she taught new mamas how to deal with breastfeeding difficulties and how to use carseats properly). The system and the modes of thought structuring it are what i find wack; i agree with you that community or its lack is central to the issue.
