Listen up
I have a shit-ton of music. Way more than can fit onto a single iPod or 60-gig computer. I've always collected more music than i can even fully listen to at once, knowing that i'll eventually give an ear to each song or album and see if i've found a personal treasure.

I'm just finishing 'This is your brain on music' which is a sciency analysis of the chemical/psychological effects of sound.
Mostly you got me excited to listen to stuff i'd forgotten about.... so i'll be the one off in a corner wearing headphones
I love the fungi too... great picture.
I've decided that i want a pool full of chihuly's in my heavenscape, or at least when i'm re-incarnated as a chinese re-colonialist millionare 200 years in the future.
They'll be antique then... and i can totally go on the 'roadshow' with them just to piss people off. :)

Funny you should mention that chem/psych effect of sound business--just the day before, i'd been writing about these funky people i'm working with who are actually breaking down the tones in people's voices to diagnose excesses and deficiencies indicative of particular health issues--and sometimes, prescribing very specific tones to be played in order to restore balance to the affected system! I'll have to check out that book.
