Pan is incredibly photogenic. I have this one shot of her where it looks like she's watching a movie on my laptop. My boss asked me if it was staged, and I was like, whaaaat?
I mean, at the very least, he should remember the period of time after I adopted her where I seemed like a walking cry for help because both my hands and forearms were covered in scratches. Ain't nobody talking Pan into doing nothing, y'all.
She's just a natural, is all. So much soul and personality that even some jackhole with Instagram can snap a good one every now and then, whether or not the light is cooperating.
One can't stage a shoot with any animal, in my experience. One must wait for the right moment.
You say it's all her, but I'm prepared to give you some credit. I have a bajillion snaps of Marzipan (who is quite the diva herself), and none of them are this good.
What an absolutely wonderful comment to have made. I thank and thank you for this.
I used to take more photos of her than I do now. I felt weird about it for a while, like I was withdrawing from her because of her illness or whatnot, but now I think it's more a combination of picking my moment and understanding that not every single instance of her looking beautiful and asleep is, you know, distinctive.
I bought her a heart-shaped catnip pillow the other day, and missed every single chance to show her running around with it clamped in her teeth like she does with my real one.
She is wondrous and she is great, and it means so much to me to be able to share that with other people.
