I know what you mean. I was just thinking today that it feels like it's been two years since there was a full series of Doctor Who on the air.
This last 7a7b season didn't leave a lot of impression on me. And it's been since 2011 since the end of Series 6, and it will apparently be autumn 2014 before the next series is broadcast, with only two episodes until then.
And don't even get me started about Matt Smith leaving. I may cry.
I'm desperately hoping whoever they get for Doctor 12 is fantastic. We're going to need a strong Doctor to restart the series again.
Are they making a 3-D movie or something for the 50th? What exactly is happening? I feel like I heard something along those lines ages ago but I am so bad at following the news about it and I don't know what's rumors and what's real anymore.
From what I've heard, they've filmed the 50th Anniversary special in 3D and it will be released in some theaters.
But it sounds like it's only 45 minutes long (it only took 3 weeks to film, the length of a 45 minute episode)so it's unlikely it will be a "movie" merely an episode that is released to some (probably mostly UK) theaters so people without 3DTVs can pay to see it in 3D.
I'd still rather have a full series than one 45 minute movie.
