I almost feel numb at this point.

Well, that's it. The end of the Eleventh Doctor. My first Doctor. I might even say he's "My" Doctor. Eleventy. Bow-legged and flaily limbs. Tweed and bow ties and striped shirts and frock coats and waist coats and my Doctor. All fun and games and all brewing a bad case of "I'll fuck you up" simmering right underneath. Hugs and lack of personal space. Floppy hair and closed-mouth smiles. My Doctor.

And it was perfect. His regeneration, such a hugely different one from David's. It's surprising how a soft monologue and a nod to a few sentiments is just as powerful, possibly even more powerful, than a destroyed TARDIS and fires.

I'll have to rewatch it to see how much I liked the plot of the Doctor staying at the town called Christmas for 300 years. I was watching it on BBC America and they found it appropriate to shove the episode full of commercials. Like, a half-hour's worth. I even had the episode downloaded on my laptop but I wanted to share this moment with my family. Last time I do that...

But the episode did have some great moments. I just loved, LOVED the interactions between Clara and the Doctor. The adorable phone call, pretending to be her boyfriend, naked with holographic clothes (HAY DER RED BUTTON), Jenna's acting when she gets fucked over by the Doctor TWICE (I mean really, Doctor, way to be a dick), when she finally sees him again when he's an old and withered man and needs help to pull apart the cracker and she leans on his leg to read him the poem and and anad;lfjalskj. Don't talk to me about why you might dislike Clara. Yes, she has a bit of Martha Jones going on, but she has saved the Doctor's skin TIME AND TIME again. We wouldn't have a Season 8 if it weren't for Clara Fuckin' Oswald.

And of course.

That moment at the end.

Just like last Christmas.

I would have been content at the mention of River being his wife.

I would have been VERY happy with the dash of little Amelia in her blue coat.

But no.

They had Amy Jessica Pond show up as a hallucination of the Doctor's. She touched. His face. And he touched hers. And she called him Raggedy Man and she said goodnight and I was sobbing on my living room couch.

I fucking love this show. I fucking love it so much that I went back upstairs to watch the entire scene again and have a long, hard cry until I was snotty and ran out of dry tissues and had to go back to the bathroom for three more. I cried more when I went on Tumblr and saw that short, 30 second scene be replayed over and over.

Ever felt like you needed closure from a fictional character? Yeah, this was it for Amy and Eleven for me. It was exactly what I needed.

Bring on Twelve.
