Friendships that aren't worth saving.

I haven't been having a good morning so far. My housemates decided to throw a house party last night. This is just what happens when you live with people that were already really good friends beforehand--your house becomes the main hangout spot for them and all their obnoxious friends. I had a volunteering shift on campus from 6:30 - 10:30pm so ( Read more... )

Whoa whoa whoa!!

Okay, room-mates are like the single worst idea ever created when it comes to housing and such. People are pricks, people are rude as hell and to not even take into consideration that you might not want to hear their drunken shenanigans all night is down right disrespectful. Yes it's their house too, but it's also yours and having their piss drunk friends ringing the doorbell at all hours of the night is just plain stupid on their and their friends part.

Your friend(?)and the girl he's with the whole situation just sounds so toxic and down-right sad. A theory behind why he went back to her even though he hates her guts is maybe they're both in so deep they wouldn't even know how to get on without the other? I dunno, I'm spit-balling here. You don't need him though that's for certain, friends or people you want relationships with should be a reflection of you and mutual respect plays a key role too. I'm glad you recognize that he isn't worth your time.

I thought I was upset when I read the start of this entry, but when I clicked underneath the cut... That really did it because a) I could relate to it too much and b) he was supposed to be a friend to you. It's amazing how selfish people can be and I'm sorry you had to deal with it. It sounds like you're making the right call with them and they'll learn the hard way. I hope you get away from these jerk housemates too. =/

Oh man, college. Roommates... *sigh* I have had many roommates both in college and since- I'd like to say it gets better as people mature, but really it doesn't. You just have to cross your fingers and hope you're lucky (I'm currently in the lucky pool, but it's soooo rare). I've tried to sleep through several all-night house parties, before finally just banging my head against the wall to force unconsciousness (okay not really), but I feel your pain. It's just really hard to live with people that aren't... well... you. You do things a certain way, you clean things a certain way, you treat people a certain way, you LIVE a certain way. If the people you live with don't live like you, it can be downright difficult to get along. I wish you luck in the future- just know that good roommates are rare, but they do exist ( ... )

Ugh, I'm sorry about your roommates. That sounds absolutely awful. It's crazy that they're SO inconsiderate.
