Title: Abstract Puzzle
Pairing: Takaki Yuya x Inoo Kei (TakaNoo)
Type: Oneshot
Genre: Romance, (idk what else)
Disclaimer: Boys aren’t mine.
Warning: My English is bad.
A/N: I’m suck at this story I almost give up.
Maybe people think it’s stupid.
Maybe he should anticipate it in the very first place about all possibilities.
Maybe Inoo’d already know this coming.
But still he couldn’t come up with anything at all, which is how it always works whenever they’re on-cam.
Seeing Takaki with girls wasn’t his first time. Back when he got his role into Bakaleya, and acted with a girl of popular idol in Japan. Romantic dates, selfies, and those enchanting smiles were filled the screen. And also when he was acting as a cold-blooded guy in that sport drama, having a slimmy girlfriend with that perfect straight shining hair (not to mention of her exposed skin under that school swimming uniform). Sure. It was called consequence. They’re living in showbiz world. Which makes the demarcation between work and private stuffs seems vague.
There is no black. He can’t say that Takaki was the one at fault.
But there is no white, either. Because for one moment he believed that maybe, maybe Takaki shouldn’t act that way.
Flirting with the girl. Calling her mom. Watching fireworks. And even trying to kiss her.
It was gray.
He knows Takaki did what he’s paid for. Working.
But on the other side, the scene felt so real it almost forced his weak stomach to collapse.
It was just different. Every tension, every movements, everything was just different. When Takaki acted for a drama, at least he could pretend not to watch them. He could just change the channel and see other programs for a while or just read a book and ignore all those romantic scripts. But today, it was happening, right on front of his eyes, a non-sense challenge for his boyfriend to hit on a girl. And he could count it as one of the worst live broadcasts he’d ever attended.
Inoo closed the locker in front of him, sighing. He shut his eyes off, like what he’d done with Yamada’s shoulder as protection. But it didn’t help him in the slightest. The more he tried to forget, the more those shadows haunted him eagerly. And the way his boyfriend tilted his neck back then was just something that he couldn’t put off that easy.
“You finished?”
It was Takaki, indicating it’s time for them to leave Jimusho. He smiled, and still look indefinable gorgeous with that messy denim jacket. And he seemed to know Inoo was currently not on his best mood.
“I am.” Inoo answered.
“Let’s go then. I wanna drop by McD later.”
“…………………………………………..”
“What’s wrong? Forget something?”
“No.”
The younger guy shook his head. But it was absolutely failed. Takaki moves one step ahead. Hands caressing Inoo’s brown mushroom hair with full concern.
“If you have something to say, just speak to me first.”
Somewhere in the back of his head, Inoo hated it. The side of him when he tried to keep things alone. When he tried to pretend that he’s okay. When he couldn’t deny that he’s jealous and somehow…. he was angry to Takaki.
While on the other hand his boyfriend is so dedicated, and gentle, and tender, and stuffs. Just how could he tell Takaki about this? He isn’t a huge fan of melodramatic stuff. He isn’t a girl. And by those mean he shouldn’t think too much of what had occurred earlier.
But…
“Do you ever think we should just stop this?” Inoo asked, breathed out like he hasn’t consumed any oxygen for years. Holding it back for so long.
“What?”
“I don’t know….”
“I don’t understand what you mean…” Takaki frowned, leaning his right shoulder on those gray lockers. Stop touching Inoo’s hair. “I mean, I got it. I just didn’t quite catch why you have to say that.”
“I’ve just suddenly realized that maybe…… this will never work for us.”
“What? I mean… what?”
“It’s complicated.”
“Just make it simple.”
“You looked happy, and it seemed so right when you were with her. And watching at you, I thought that maybe….. you belong to that place. You aren’t originally one of us, Yuya. You had girlfriends. You dated them. I didn’t.”
“It’s only for work.”
“But I couldn’t stand that. I couldn’t just clutch onto Yamada or other members everytime you acted like that again.”
Finally he blurted that out. They stood in awkward, testy silence for a minute. Takaki just glued his eyes upon Inoo’s, without any words. Inoo pretended to be busy with his shoes, as he kept trying to fish a reason if later Takaki asked for an explanation.
“So now what?” Takaki asked. “Can we discuss the specifics?”
Inoo balanced himself, visibly uncomfortable. “I also want to have date with you. To hold your hands in front of people. To claim that you’re mine so nobody would dare to touch you.”
“But you know we’re different from most of them.”
“And then at least you should behave.”
“Me? Behave?” Takaki laughed. His smirk formed on those lips like a desperate triumph. “I was working, Kei. And since when PDA is being our problem? Should I apologize because I can’t take you out to romantic dinner? Should I apologize because I can’t take you to cinema and doing couple stuffs, hugging, and kissing, and cuddling at the back seats? Should I apologize because I could only ask you to come to my room and eat popcorn while watching old movies? Well then I’m so sorry for that…..”
In fact, Inoo was halfway through realizing he’d just said something stupid. He glanced over at the boyfriend, who’s now getting clearly annoyed. There isn’t much noisiness around, which was showing off the crappy strained breathing between them.
“I thought you had already learnt all those risks. I thought we’d agreed to this.” Takaki stated, out of his mouth was actually a question. But not to Inoo. It sounds like a complaint.
“Yes I know that.”
“And besides, I’ve tried hard enough to convince you to just accept that peach movie something, where in you’ll have kiss scenes. Because in our age, we couldn’t deny those kind of roles will come sooner or later. We aren’t teenagers anymore, Kei.”
“You don’t understand, Yuya.”
“Okay, then can you make me understand?”
Inoo sighed. For a second Takaki was waiting for an answer. But there he was, silent still like Takaki had just pressed mute button.
“Kei…”
“Well…” Inoo herd his shoulder bag, cutting it off. “Let’s grab McD for you.”
***
Inoo sat on Takaki’s black sofa, lazily watching late-night Music Video on TV. They just had one full silent night on the car earlier. No conversation was going. Not even now. And it honestly came to Inoo’s disliking. Arguing with Takaki always made him regret in the end. He hated silence. He hated Takaki iced him out. So he turned off the tv, turned back to see Takaki was on the kitchen, pouring water for them.
Takaki’s back seems so strong. And his shoulders are always comfortable for Inoo, like the older guy could just reach him into an arm hug and immediately shove those bad things away. The reason was actually quite simple. That’s how he’d figured out he didn’t want anyone to just throw themselves into his boyfriend. He didn’t want anyone, to experience that nervously throbbing sensation when they got closer to Yuya. It was his. Takaki only belongs to him.
So that Inoo softly landed his forehead to Takaki’s bare spine. Hands are circling around that stomach from behind.
“I am sorry.” Inoo muttered.
“……………………………………………”
“I guess I was just being tired.”
“……………………………………………”
He knew why Takaki didn’t come up with a proper respond. On second thought, Inoo remembered his good things with Takaki. Above everything else, it was nothing compared to Takaki’s fake when he flirted the previous girl.
“I just wanted you to notice that I was watching you. So maybe I could sense some uneasiness but you’ve gone all out with flirting her.”
“I knew you watched me and for the record it was for-“
“For work. I got it.”
“Yeah. For work. But then you suddenly brought up that idea to stop all of this and we couldn’t make it work between us…. I was like….”
“……………………………………………”
“I was like…. all I wanted is you to trust me. That’s it.”
“Am I supposed to be scared now?”
Takaki knitted his eyebrows together. Before he turned back and witnessed that guilty and demanding eyes from Inoo by himself.
“Scared of…?”
“Maybe you’re getting tired of me?”
“Well… I don’t know…” Takaki shrugged.
Inoo pouted, leaning his front body to Takaki’s chest. Slowly, he tiptoed, lessening the few centimeters gap between them. “Forgive me.” He whispered.
“No.”
“Forgive me?” Inoo kept asking, drawing his face closer to Takaki’s nose. He could feel Takaki’s aftershave scent, but the latter still didn’t even blink.
“I said no.”
“Please?”
It was Inoo’s last demand, before seconds later he planted a sweet-sugar kiss on his boyfriend’s lips. His hands were climbing and covering Takaki’s cheeks. While Takaki’s one arm pulled Inoo’s waist into a possessive hug, and the other one held onto Inoo’s chin for better access. The last kiss they had was this morning. But however it feels like years already. As Inoo could barely handle himself from all this pastel taste. God. Takaki’s Marlboro had done great job to make everything sexier.
“I’m so confused of you.” Takaki started, mumbling on Inoo’s forehead. “One moment you said you wanted us to just stop, but one moment later you suddenly jumped and kissed me. What were you thinking actually, mr random?”
“Hmmm… can you just forget what happened today? Things you did on that girl earlier, and things I’ve said on locker room.”
“I’m cool with it. Except everything that started at 11 pm.”
“Yeah, except everything that will happen after this, you had to forget.”
He nodded seriously. And smiled. And Inoo suspected something at the way Takaki smiled. Damn. This is predictable. Takaki was such a bastard sometimes Inoo could just punch and kiss him at the same time.
“I heard that-“ He whispered on Inoo’s ear.
“What?”
“-that sex after couple’s fight could be so hot. You want to monopolize me, remember?”
Thus Inoo quickly pushed Takaki to the nearest wall, grabbing his t-shirt, and begins their night.
