Yet another bump in the road...

Jun 28, 2005 15:39

So, I took my car to get it inspected, and ......... it failed. Ugh. One more bump or road block on my road to getting my license. I was hoping that it would pass and I would be able to go on friday (or saturday) to get my license. That is still a possibility, but I would have to use my dad's pick-up truck ( Read more... )

It doesn't have ANYTHING to do with you...it's just blasted cars. You wanna know something odd...Washington State doesn't have inspections. I didn't know they existed, but when I visited a friend in Connecticut we took her car to get inspected. It was interesting...

I know it has nothing to do with me, per se. It's just all when I try to do something, it never fails that something stops me. I'm determined to get my license in the next three weeks though. I have to get it before July 24th.

California doesn't have safety inspections either, just emissions/smog testing. I've known about the inspection thing, because I've lived here before... but, I just wish my car would have passed so I can get my license...

Likewise, Colorado-- just emissions. I was awfully confused when you said your airbag and taillight were cause for the car to fail an inspection.

Hrmph. Remind me not to move to... wherever it is you live. (NC or SC, I think?)

I hate cars too, and they hate me. It's a rule.

I could have sworn I replied to this the other day, but apparently not...

Virginia has a safety inspection. They test your brakes, your wipers, etc. to make sure your vehicle is safe to drive. But, different places pass/fail for different things. Example, my mom's car failed at one place because she has a crack in the windshield that blocks or detracts her view. The thing is, if you were to put the visor down (this is on the driver's side), the crack is covered. Go figure.

I also found out that the place I went to is famous for failing cars on stuff like the ball joints when a female brings a car in. Great.

I don't recommend moving here anyway... safety inspection, county registration (property tax on your vehicle), and other things...

Have you looked online to see if there has been a recall on the airbag light? There was a recall like that for my mom's van and all she had to do is bring it to the dealership and they fixed it for free. If you do find something like that, print a copy and bring it with you to be on the safe side. Take care.

No... didn't even think of that. I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the tip.

My dad did some checking, and there was a recall of the 4-door Explorer back in 2000 due to the airbag, but I have a 2-door Explorer...

Thanks for the tip though.

That sucks. I hope you figure out what is causing the light to go on. Take care.
