I don't think a lot of people are saying that he necessarily supported the Nazis... it is kind of sad that he doesn't get that it's inappropriate to use it. From the comments I was reading off of arama, at least, many people weren't going after Koki it seemed. I don't have so much an issue with Koki's choice when it's taken into perspective of Japanese society as a whole just not getting it when it comes to the western front of WWII and Hitler. It's not any one person that needs to be "fixed" or "taught a lesson." Japan as a whole needs to be more educated about the atrocities on the western front of WWII just as the western world needs to be educated about those on the pacific front. Just like westerners don't always get the hate between Korean and Japanese and Chinese governments, they don't get the Hitler stigma. So, on the whole, I don't blame Koki for his choice, even though I believe it was not a good one.

I understand where your coming from. I think, though, it is a good way to protray evil. The thing I really don't get is that People are going after him, when there have been movies about the holocaust that never got this type of negativity.

I obviously missed a lot when I watched this. I thought it was good vs evil with good breaking through something like mind control in the end and winning... Of course, I didn't exactly understand the lyrics so that may be part of it. I completely missed the Nazi/ Hitler aspect...

Don't worry I had totally missed that concept too. I just saw the good vs evil bit with good being stronger in the end.

Re: Black or White Tanaka Koki Here's what I think. Agree or Disagree? redina September 17 2012, 01:43:45 UTC
The irony for me is I felt the lyrics weren't necessarily about good vs. evil... but about emotions we can experience and the internalized 'war'.

I agree for the most part. I honestly have no problem with his choice of outfit or anything. The only thing I didn't like at first was the dancing he did as the white/good guy since it was all flailing, but when I think about it more, it makes sense since the black/bad guys were dancing all uniform and perfect. The flailing in the white/good guy dancing was expressing freedom to do, freedom to be. Of course, that's just my interpretation ( ... )

I agree with you. About the song I agree with you, it would be fun to really hear what he is singing. But overall its good and I hope to see more from him in the future. He and KAT-TUN of course are really talented and can do a lot of things and the never fail to amase me every single time. I actually think Koki was nervous or so for the first solo activty and who wouldnt be?

Agrees 100%! Plus the fact that people wished "he won't do another Make U Wet because he's much better than that" (I don't know where I read that), and then he comes up with this kind of concept and people just criticized him.
