I'm so sorry for your loss! Liver disease is a bitch! (speaking as a veterinary tech). Its not always beatable even if you DO spend TONS of money on treatment. One of my co-workers (and friends) had to put her young female cat to sleep when she went into liver failure. She felt guilty about it, but liver failure is very, very painful, full of nausea and just all around nasty....so don't feel guilty for the decision...you saved her a lot of suffering. I know I would want the same loving decision if I were a cat.

you already know this Matt, this is just for other readers. Dante the cat is slowly recovering, she's eating and drinking, my brother has her on a special diet, she's eating and drinking now, and is walking again, she's still pretty weak, but getting gradually better. the downside is she's lost her sight, I'm hoping it's temporary, but I'm not certain, it could be permanent. Once she's strong enough the vets are going to do a biopsy on her liver to find out what exactly is the problem. The vets say that Dante isn't in any discomfort. So we're all hoping she gets better fast.
