Hey! Just wanted to say that you certainly have far more than just five readers! I'm one of them, just never commented before. And your story is interesting and complicated, just like a good story should be. And your creativity...wow! It takes something to put Jack and Ennis in the middle of the Persian War...

Excellent. I'm so enjoying this..

I don’t understand; master Ennis… why should I go over the mountain? I am not trained…-
Ennis looks at the young hilot who is bitching near the tent.
Brown eyebrows frowns.
Does this guy ever stop talking?...

He looks at the other young man, still talking, voice like music.

Oh Tatia, you've woven such a charming tale. The boys on the mountain start out adorable, Ioan having never been on a horse, panicking and grabbing onto the horse's mane, Ennis reaching over to steady him.... too cute! Then there are all the canon references, from Jack's complaining to the broken pipe to the trips up the mountain, as well as the sobering reminder that they aren't in an innocent mountain paradise, but at war, when Ennis comes back from the "bear attack" and Ioan tends to his wounds. I love the description of Ioan being "like a gentle faun", so playful and innocent. I am worried about the spot of Ioan's blood being a bit of foreshadowing though, and I'm also worried about Ennis sending his hilot up the mountain alone with a short sword he doesn't know how to use. Let's hope they change jobs soon, like in the story! I look forward to more.

I love this story because it is so well written and I love history of any kind and your detailed explanation of the particular time is very informative and exciting. I appreciate your very hard work to make the story more realistic in that ancient time.I do hope nothing devastating happens to our favorite characters.
Thank you and sorry for a late comment.
