So I haven't seen The Ring but apparently (according to my kids)the BBC movie, Yellow Wallpaper is very visually similar. I can't imagine that they are similar in plot, but some of the shots are remarkably similar or so I hear.

you haven't seen the ring? go get it (but ignore the stupid hype) it's pretty cool...one of the few movies lately to surprise me.

It's based on a femminist Victorian short story of the same title by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It's about a woman suffering from post-pardom depression that is being treated by her doctor/husband.
