Ah, Tiff you're adorable! *hugs* You mean to tell me you haven't read the books yet? Oh well, now is a good time to start since the final one is just around the corner, and you won't have to wait 7 years to find out whether Harry will triumph over Voldemort, like I did ;-) The books are a lot more gripping (more heart in mouth) and mature than the movies (the only HP film I really loved was the Prisoner of Azkaban, thanks to Alfonso Cuaron), so prepare to clear your schedule of any unavoidable commitments when you start!!
So you and Jen know each other in real life? That's awesome. Did you guys meet online?
Awww... thanks. *hugs* No, I haven't read any of the books yet. I LOVE to read, but I'm bad about being as faithful to it as I'd like. I've seen all the movies, but never read the books and always really wanted to. Now I have a nice (organized) excuse. ;)
Yes, Jen and I know each other in real life. And no, we didn't meet online; actually the opposite. We met in college, in a Jane Austen seminar class we were both taking. Then she's the one who got me into LOST, so I wouldn't be here without her. :)
have fun with HP, Tiff. I know I spent many great hours reading these books... at one point I got rather disappointed and I'm not looking forward to 7th book as much as I would like to (I'm much more excited about your birthday, woohoo! :D), but till that moment it was a wonderful experience so I hope you'll collect some very nice memories during this time :)
lol, you must be much more sociable that I am - when I was living with my family, I loved when the house was empty and I could do whatever I wanted without anyone nagging me about cleaning my room, eating my breakfast or going to sleep early... but if you're craving some company, I'm sure Jen wouldn't let you feel lonely. and don't forget about us - we're here for you too :)
"Again, as always I've fallen behind, but I hope to use this place more. :D" I hope to "see" you more often on LJ too :)
(I'm much more excited about your birthday, woohoo! :D)
AWW *squish* You're so sweet.
Haha... I am actually not all that sociable (remember, we're so alike). It's just that with an entire week at home by myself, I would drive myself crazy. I'd spend the time thinking too much about where I'm not in life, so it's really good that Jen's coming, and we can just do it together instead. :p (We're in that transitional stage in our lives that is SO difficult.)

Have a nice time with Jen *hugs* And you're not the only one who hasn't read HP yet, I have neither read a book nor I've seen one of the movies O_o I can't really explain why, I guess I just didn't like all the hype and just avoided it. There are so many people who tell me I should read the books but so far I can't get myself to do it :/
but I hope to use this place more I hope so too :D
Thanks. :) Well, I have seen the movies, although I wish I hadn't and that I could've just read the books first, but oh well. I don't know. I'm just a big pop culture addict. I've gotten to where I watch almost all the TV pilots every season just because whichever one ends up being the new smash hit, I want to be in on it. I think it's the trend-studier in me that leads me to be this way.
Ok, I'm doing it. Just like Mrs. B, I couldn't be bothered and avoided the hype. But now I want to do it. I can't promise I'll stick with it since it looks like it will eat into my internet time and I have priorities :D But I'll try.
Yay! Have fun with Jen this weekend. I take it you guys didn't fly to LA?
Oh, good. I didn't know I could be persuasive on this issue. ;) We can do it together. Glad to have a friend who hasn't read them yet but wants to.
No, Jen and I aren't going to LA, which is part of the RL junk that I'll have to share, and I will tell you everything when I can. It really wasn't a wimping out on our parts though. It just all kind of fell apart.
Tiff, it's hard to believe you haven't read the books so you must rectify that right away! :) Feel free to read more than a chapter or two a day - once you get going, you'll probably want to and it flows so fast anyway. The movies are great for atmosphere and the acting (and the fabulous stable of actors in them) but the books are so much better on the storytelling and character development - and humor. There's a reason she's richer than the Queen. (This morning I heard she's worth $1.1 billion.) Maybe that's not richer than the Queen, I don't know...
This is WAY out of left field, but speaking of the atmosphere in the movies, one of my favorite things about them is the music. LOVE IT. And I really can't wait to read the books.
Wow. I know Jen says she would like to be J.K. Rowling. And I would like to be her (Jen's) editor... or cohort... or something. :)
