My New Obsession

Sep 16, 2007 00:01

This post is simply to enlighten my friends on my newest obsession. I have spent the past couple of weeks watching copious amounts of Grey's Anatomy, a show I never got into but due to the hype and my need to always be in the know regarding everything television, I figured it was time to catch on ( Read more... )

Awwww!! That is/was my main GA couple too! That scene was most definitely one of my faves. It was super beautiful and touching.
I don't know if you've caught up to this past season of GA, but I'm very upset with s3, I'll tell ya that much. I kid you not, s3 is always, ALWAYS, the season of EVIL! :p But I'll always keep my hope for A/I. ♥
Oh and sorta OT but since I didn't respond to your last comment in my lj and speaking of moving scenes, the Clana icon I have is seriously such an amazing moment! OTP moment I tell ya! I can watch it over and over again. Those are the best, and that A/I one was definitely one too!

Oh, good. I really haven't been sure how big their fanbase is since I'm not connected online with this show at all, but this alone is a pretty positive reaction.

Yeah, I'm about 1/3 of the way through S3 and already it's not my favorite. I think my favorite part of the show so far was the first 3/4 of S2. That seemed really great to me.

I'm afraid they moved too fast with Alex/Izzie too early, but I could never wish for anything but them to end up together. And in the meantime, that scene goes down on my all-time favorite TV couple scenes. It was just... amazing.

Yay!!! I'm glad to find more fans. They are lovely, and that scene is probably my favorite on the show.

*hugs*

I'm still a fan of them despite...things...where did you say you got up to? LOL. I got pretty angry with the direction the show took at the end of last season, especially as it came to light that it was all to surround...er...stuff happening (damn you *person*). It messed around with everything. But fans know how to scream and shout and get attention so it seems it might actually work some of the crap off this season coming. (You made that so much easier for me to write. :P)

About the shipping thing...I tell you it is soooooooooooooooo much of an easier fandom. Honestly. I tried to start out away from the shipping thing, but I kinda got caught up pretty quick with my ship. There was a lot of "BITCH!!!" shouted at Addison at first. :P And now I like her... so it's strange how it turns out. I mostly only post on LJ anyways....as you've seen with my crazy outbursts recently. :D

Just enjoy it, and post about it if you want to... obviously if it has ANY relevance to the show you know I'll be here reading it. LOL.

LOL You are so cryptic, Amy. We've obviously already talked about this more, but I know the rest of S3 is gonna suck. I'm not really looking forward to watching them clean up the Izzie/George and Alex/Ava mess, but I'll keep watching and at this point just try not to get too involved. I know how that worked out with the last show. :/

Here's the thing, if people are bitching about the whole George/Izzie thing - enough to inspire rewrites, which is what we're hearing - then doesn't one have to assume Alex/Izzie have a large fanbase that must at least make up a part of those who are speaking out? But you really don't think they'll end up together?

I guess I'll just deal with it and try to let the drama come from elsewhere in my life. This just needs to be a fun show. But Alex/Izzie really do make me so happy. :)

Welcome to the awesomeness that is Grey's Anatomy. Some people write it off as just a doctor soap opera...but its sooo much more. The stories are incredible. As for me, I was like you. I wanted to be in medicine, but I also wanted to be an actress. I chose medicine though. Currently in the interviewing process for PA school. My thought is that its never to late to try something else. Maybe 10 years from now I will go audition for something...ya never know.

Wow, that's really cool. At the same fork in the road, we each took a different path. We will have to see where we are in 10 years (with me, it will be a complete mystery).

Some of the stories have really gotten to me. The guy with Parkinson's so bad that he couldn't walk his daughter down the aisle, the friend of Addison and Derek's who had a full hysterectomy and double mastectomy because she had the breast cancer gene and didn't want to take the risk, the quints, the bomb episode was brilliant.

Jen said, "You could always go back to school," but I don't even think I would've survived school going the medical route. It is the more stable one and at this point I envy that, but I guess we can never know where we'll end up.

Good luck with the admission process into PA school!

Yea it will be cool to see where we both are in 10 years! Yea I know what you mean about some of the stories really getting to you. I think I bawled buckets when the woman who was 8 months pregnant slipped in the shower and it killed her child. I think thats the biggest reason I at the moment dont think I could do OB/GYN....99% of what you see is happy and great, but when you have to deliver a dead child or tell parents that their child is dead...I'm not sure I could do that yet ( ... )
