So. They arrive. Met in Fowey for a quiet boz, minus OH, headed to Taipan (only place open for food at 10pm). 11pm Tatty unable to get cab from 6 companies but grovelled to taxi waiting for its customers outside a pub and they took me home.

Insomnia is catching (thanks SS). Have been awake since 2am and am fed up now. Must get sleep, lots to do

We have hot water but NO HEATING....but we do have a stove (supplied by said SS and CEO) in the lounge that is now packing out some heat...hopefully won't be long until the temp is once again above 60'

Plumber brother in law may be round later to 'have a look'.
