[art dump] mongoloid
Hello everyone.
Today I have been bad, and indulged myself.
I stayed at home, and spent the whole afternoon curled up in bed, reading Kafka on the Shore.
Kafka on the Shore is like reading a dream. You don't really understand what's going on, but there's something about it that makes sense, or touches some deep, deep part within you.
In short- it's my fancy way of saying, "I don't understand what you've been smoking, Mr Murakami, but I like it."
It's very complex to read- he makes references to a lot of theories and philosophies- everything from the Oedipus Complex to the Chekhov's Gun, so I didn't get a lot of things. *stupid*
Still, I allowed most of the words to wash over me, and it was enjoyable- but I think I will reattempt the novel again. I like novels that you can reread again and again, and uncover layers and layers to it.
Then, I decided to draw.
I have been very bad. *looks down in shame*
ps/ to S, I don't know if you are reading this, but I will attempt the website again soon. I appreciate the templates you have done for me and I do not intend to leave it unfinished. :> I..just thought I'd say it, I hope it's alright.

I love Melemel's Japanese flower brushes- they make everything 100x prettier.
I drew her with mouse in Photoshop.

The Cutting of her Hair
Haha, I bet most of you are feeling cheated now XD
I do a lot of editing to my work before it goes on DA.
In this case- the yellow gauze didn't get scanned in, and the red gauze looks washed out- so I added "overlay" and "vivid color" filters to make it stand out.

Oshima ( glasses) and Kafka.
I love Oshima a lot, easily one of the more interesting characters in the story. I found myself wishing he was real, so I could visit him in his library- have him smile at me and go- 'Hello, welcome to the library. How may I help you?" I want to ask him about lots of things, and hear what he has to say about them.

Just to demonstrate that my initial color palletes and my final color palletes are nearly NEVER the same.

Digital Fireflies
Something for star_dim . You know, I was thinking about 99 when I drew this- about how pretty and sad it was to have him decompile into a million digital fireflies. I hope that it's alright I tried to draw the scene out- although you probably have a very different idea/picture? of how it might happen. I hope I didn't ruin anything.. ;A;
