Hello everyone, it feels like it's been forever since I've updated my journal. Before I say anything more, I want to post some art things I've been hoarding for quite some time.
There's just something so dreamy and ethereal about your art, I absolutely adore it. And you create such vivid atmosphere, such a clear sense of mood. Lahv lahv lahv it. ♥
♥♥♥ Thank you so much! Vivid atmosphere is good, I always strive to create some sort of atmosphere in my art, so Im glad you feel it!! <3 It means a lot to me.
I find that most of the work with skin tones is getting a palette that works for you, as well as becoming familiar with your digital brushes and blending-blending-blending. I actually jotted down a quick tutorial a few years ago about making a skintone palette, if you think you'd be interested?
Actually that would be a GREAT help, thank you so much! I've been browsing around tutorials and I notice that most of them have some sort of colour pallete ready- I have yet to find a pallete that works for me, but I think that my real problem lies with lighting. I often have no idea where I want my light to come from, thus the shading is all over the place and can seem flat. Im looking forward to practicing more and improving though, so any form of help is very much appreciated! Thank you so much, you are too kind <3
THIS HELPED A LOT. Thank you so much, Im bookmarking these links, both of them, for further study :) I adore how you came up with the method of sampling your own face for skin tone colours. It's so incredibly smart, haha. And you look so pretty in that picture ;A;
Gyaaaa It's always LOVELY! ♥ Hey hey how about majoring in art and design in your college/ university? You'd done well. I looove the blouse pattern in 'leaking hearts' and absolutely adore your Sanji and Woman!Zoro! XD
Um, how about the postcard? I've been waitinggg and waitingggg XD
I really, really want to just major in art/design in my future uni/college but Im really worried also about the financial stability of going into such a field. Ultimately Malaysia is still not that kind to artists, life is hard, and I've heard many horror stories. Still, I am thinking about doing it, only I might go the roundabout way- meaning, I get a more stable degree, then pursue arts. It's the love of my life.
And thank you so much ! ♥ I have not forgotten your card, actually. I'll have to ask my mom to drop by the post office soon, I depend on her to do these kind of things, haha. Im very sorry for the wait ! ;A; Rest assured, I will send it to you soon <3
By the way, is there a favourite character that you have in One Piece?
Zoro and Sanji are my fav characters. But if I have to choose, then it's Saaanjiii. So pretty I am making him my LJ icon, from when he's in okama land. He's soo pretty! XD
Oh, about the stable job thing, don't worry! I have a cousin who works in design field, he's majoring in visual art in uni, and he's making twice more than my other cousin who is a doctor. Recently, my cousin who works in design field got offered a master scholarship in London. That was because he follows what he loves the most: art and design, and not what his parents want him to be. I hope his story could be your inspiration. My mum always say,embrace what you love and throw yourself completely to it and money will follow you. It's just a suggestion, but I hope it could be in your consideration. :)
yay! I find Sanji pretty too, but that's only part of why he's my favourite character of One Piece. I like his heart. He has a good, good heart, and he's so selfless. I hope to be as selfless as him.
Also, thank you so much for sharing that with me. Whenever I hear success stories for people who venture into art, I can't help but smile. I hear negative stories all the time, and I was strongly discouraged to pursue art.
Wow, a designer who makes more than a doctor! Now that's something. What is he majoring in? Advertising ? Im really really happy that you have such an encouraging mother. My mother says the opposite thing, haha- she's more of a practical person. To her, as long as you get a stable career, it doesn't matter if you like your job or not.
i will definitely think about what you've told me. I wish you all the best as well. Are you going to pursue arts yourself? :)
Lol I really want a Kuma-Zoro. When I saw him in that Bear suit during Thriller Bark I was like GOSH THAT IS TWENTY DIFFERENT KINDS OF CUTE. Haha, and thank you very much ! Im actually very happy you said "relaxing", because that was the mood I was going for !
