Until now, it genuinely had not occurred to me that much of the Muppets' audience would never have seen them before. I hadn't realised cultural deprivation in this country had reached such depths...

It's a very strange thing to think about, to be quite genuine. Someone mentioned it on the Twitter the other day, that there's a generation of kids for whom this will be their first introduction to the Muppets.

They were such a present thing during my childhood, despite my time coming after their biggest successes, and I can't imagine growing up without them.

Keep an eye on the Donmar website for The Recruiting Officer - there were quite a few dates that got held back for normal sales, and they tend to go up a day at a time, and sometimes you can get fantastic seats a week in advance even in sold out shows. I got my Anna Christie tickets that way last year. But you have to be fast - they'll go up quietly in the morning, and be gone by midafternoon!

ETA: CHECK THE WEBSITE RIGHT NOW!!!! There are seats for Tues 6th, Weds 21 and Weds 28 March!

ETA 2: Damn, I just saw you're only in London for a few days, so those dates aren't any good. But it's still worth looking, and if you're on a budget, the £10 circle tickets are ideal. I'm dithering over getting a second ticket, as the one I've booked isn't until April. A bit greedy, though, maybe. Hmmm.

I'm on holiday from the 29th Feb through to the 7th of March. So I've basically just said bugger it and I've bought a ticket (quite a good ticket, it turns out) for the Tuesday 6th.

So basically my eternal gratitude for tipping me off because now I'm guaranteed to see Tobias Menzies ridiculous face on stage. (Well, and also I hear the play is pretty brilliant too. So, y'know, yay!)

Oh, brilliant! They had some nice side stalls for that night, and I always sit side stalls at the Donmar, so you should have a great seat.

As V-Days go - my bar is set very low (having never had a significant other to share it with) but it was quiet and peaceful, which is all I really ask from the day.

Thank you again! That was very sweet of you!
