Were you as annoyed by the NBC announcers as I was. In the face of all that Chinese impressiveness, they seemed very... pro-American and insulting of everyone else. "Oh, this country has no shot at medals and you probably don't know where it is." Then the Olympic Committee guy was just a tad arrogant when he got up and said that every Chinese person has been dreaming of this moment, which the Olympics can now fulfill for them. Followed by the NBC folks saying, repeatedly, that this is the greatest day in the history of modern China.
I was impressed by the little kid who helped his classmates out in the earthquake, though. Also, the sheer magnitude of the fireworks convinced me that China could blow up everyone.
