Gah...just went to read your replies of your livejournal...so Anatares DID get the Voldemort's-brother-wand?! Now I just feel confused...but Neville got the Holly and Phoenix feather...isn't that Canon!Harry's wand...?Not exactly, not exactly. Just because it's Holly and Phoenix feather doesn't mean it's Fawkes' feather inside the wand. I wanted the whole brother wand effect (crucial to the plot, as it is in canon), but with a different spin on it. As Antares is wholly different on the outside than Harry, so his wand wood, the covering, would be different. But, since he is still essentially that slightly blind, rather rebellious, good-hearted law-breaking teenager that is crafty when he wants to be (which Harry is), he gets the same core. He'll have some different issues than Harry, of course, as it wouldn't make sense if he didn't, but his destiny is essentially the same. So that's why they have the same wand core, but not the same wood ( ... )

Got it. I was trying to think about it like that, but I sort of felt that even in an AU, Ollivander should still have made the same wands, so a holly and phoenix is likely to be canonHarry's wand - but that's not necessarily true, of course. Right. So in that case, are there any interesting properties about Neville's wand ( ... )

Yup, I am gonna use Priori Incantatem, but not where or how you think. ;) Can't reply properly right now, as my sisters are nearby and would take umbrage at it, so I'll just suffice it to say that you raised important points, and should note I'm going to try and work with canon as much as possible.

Oh, sounds intriging, I cannot wait... I only said dammit about Priori Incantatem cause I'm planning to use it too... but, with any luck, not or how you think I am...
