Day 2, No Coffee, Drinking, or Dating (No CDD)

I wonder if this is what Mormons feel like. Oh wait. But they get to date, don't they? Maybe I should change that last one to something else. I'm finding that while I a) feel better and more healthy, I am b) more judgmental of judgmental people and c) more insecure and irritable in general but this may be because of d) I'm bleeding (but I don't ( Read more... )

Oh, I didn't think of that! Astute observation, dear reader. Now I feel more like I really am realistically living the Mormon lifestyle. Thank you.

I'm here to help. In any clumsy, white anglo-saxon male way that I can. Have I mentioned that I am straight, as well? If you need some help understanding the mind of the oppressor, let offer this tidbit: We r dum

As the only self-identified "straight white anglo-saxon male" that is brave enough to be a livejournal friend of mine, you take on the responsibility of expressing that contextually minority perspective. Best of luck w/that. Speak for your people and so on. W r dum works.

I had given up coffee/espresso as well. Since I started studying for the bar really...
I switched to green and black teas, and chai. Mainly because...
a) lattes are fattening & expensive, and
b) at the Victrola I could get all kinds of refills on my tea.. thus stretching out that time that you can possibly stay in one cafe without feeling too guilty. Plus, coffee breath is apparently very yucky to persons that don't drink it. Sad eh? Also
c) I was very anxious/ect. and was told by a professional that I needed to cut caffeine out of my diet. :(

But today... I ruined everything and got a double soy latte. It never tasted so damn good. HA! (I'm just like a junkie that goes off their stuff, just so they can get that super great high after a few months)

Ah, my lovely boy; I'm afraid you're mistaken! (and don't I love lookin' things up on company time) is this billable? Here we go:
"According to the Stash Tea Company (http://www.stashtea.com), a 5-ounce cup of percolated coffee contains 40-170 mg, while a 5-ounce cup of brewed tea (imported, of course) contains 25-110 mg of caffeine. So, the average weakest or strongest cup of coffee contains about half again as much caffeine as the average weakest or strongest cup of tea."

I know where your mistake originated though; Tea leaves have more caffeine than coffee beans before they are brewed. Prepared, however, tea is diluted quite a bit more than most coffees. But my body KNOWS the difference. And a double espresso is a bit more concentrated than that. yummm!

Seriously, no caffiene?? How dare you do such and attrocious thing in Seattle! You should be ashamed of yourself. Although likening it to being a Mormon just makes it fun I think.
As to that point, do you have a lot of Mormons at Seattle U Law? I was sans Mormons in undergrad (well, one for two years) and now I have two in my legal research and writing course. It's soooooo weird. My High School was easily a quarter Mormon, but I'd gotten so used to not be around them.
Hopefully you'll gain that natural pep that they have even though they do not ingest caffiene. ;)
