01. [Holo / Arrival] Not the afterlife. Probably.

"Two thousand years, and I can still be surprised. In this I see God." The girl was crying for him, and in turn he could only smile for her, his heart light for the first time in over a century. The horizon beckoned, and he obeyed its call.

He discarded his shirt to better feel the sun on his skin. It burned, but the sensation brought him no pain. He was far beyond pain; he was ready. As the flames engulfed him, he spread his arms, welcoming whatever would come next, if anything would come at all.

...This wasn't what he'd been expecting. Godric was still for a moment, taking in his surroundings in surprised confusion. A metal room, perfectly enclosed. He looked to himself for signs of injury, for burns, and found his pale white skin still perfectly formed. He could feel his strength, his nature coursing through his veins. Vampire still.

"No... How?" Could he not even die in peace? Or perhaps he was dead, and his punishment for all his misdeeds was eternity with the existence he'd come to hate? More reasonably, someone had managed to save him, heal him, and lock him in this room away from the sun, but Godric couldn't conceive of anyone strong enough to have pulled him from the roof without burning alongside him. More importantly, he had felt himself being rendered to dust. He had been beyond healing, of that he was sure.

So what was this? There was a new addition to his wardrobe (or lack thereof - he was still sans shirt), a bracelet around his wrist he touched curiously, noting that it was fused to his skin like silver, but caused him no pain. But it brought no revelations, and a look around the room revealed nothing helpful but the pedestal next to him, which held what looked like some kind of cell phone. It appeared to be on.

"I would like an explanation. Immediately." He said it at a conversational volume, expecting that someone was watching, or listening. It was almost a polite request, conciliatory, but it possessed a distinct and unmistakable undertone of steel.
