The artificial sun rose over the tops of the buildings, a sign that night was over in Taxon and it was a new day. It was also a sign that the nightmare that was Cassandra Hack as a slasher was over. The moment the light hit the blood-covered slasher, she shrieked, throwing her head back. Every muscle in her body tensed up and the nails began to retreat into her fingers, returning them to their usual length. Another bolt of pain tore through her and she hunched forward, arms clutching at her abdomen.
The eerie yellow-green glow faded and her eyes, squeezed tightly shut, returned to normal. Her skin, beneath all of that blood and viscera became that not-exactly-healthy-but-better-than-gray pale color. A broken sob tore its way up her throat and her knees gave out on her and she fell to the ground. The side of her head bounced against the sidewalk, and she cried out again, weakly.
Her mind was a blank at first. She had no idea what was going on and where she was and why she was there for that matter. And then the images started.
It began with the tram and the people that she slaughtered with a sick grin on her face.
Then the random townsfolk. God, there were so many. She couldn't even begin to count.
Then there were the real people. Many of them she hadn't met, but she was ruthless. She wanted to see them bleed and cry and beg and then the tears started. They slipped down her cheeks as she wept soundlessly, haunted by what she'd seen and what she'd done.\
