001: [HOLO] ARRIVAL - NOT DOROTHY, NOT IN KANSAS
When someone comes home after a long day of battling creepy demons and averting apocalyptic disasters from ever hitting the city - otherwise known as a normal day at the office - she will expect that, when she opens her door she will see very familiar and comforting things to her.
Suffice to say, seeing metal things and finding herself inside a chamber of some sort is not anywhere within her list of things that are familiar and comforting.
“Okay. I’m dreaming.” Cordelia closes her eyes, counts to three, and opens them. Nope. Still in the land of metallic weirdness. She looks down at her feet, shrugs, and then taps her heels together three times, saying, “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home…”
Crap.
“Yes, Cordelia, because tapping your heels worked so well the last time, too.”
Wait.
She looks around her, cautiously moving down the steps as she did. What is it, this time? Another portal that sucked her into a land of three suns where people will treat her like cow crap before promoting her into a princess?
Oh, but that’s so last season.
That’s when Cordelia notices the thing that’s stuck to her right wrist. Immediately - despite seeing that it’s already fused with her skin - she tries to remove it. “Oh. Tacky. Tasteless. And apparently, won’t come off. Great. Just frickin‘ great.” Cordelia gives it one last tug, before grimacing in pain from her own actions and throwing her hands up in exasperation. “Hello! People in charge of this really craptastic place! I‘m sure you‘ve made a mistake. I‘m supposed to be in my apartment, you know - resting, or, hey - maybe even enjoying a bubble bath. Not in this… weird place, wearing this weird thing! You have no use for me. I‘m not special at all! Just your regular… normal… girl, here! And you're just, you know... I'm sure you'll find someone better and, and hotter, than me!
Hello? Anyone?"
