Normally, scouting missions were simple. You go in - check the area - and get the hell out of dodge. Then again normally you weren't stuck in an underground facility that looked like the Genii's, John. Sheppard told himself as he walked around the Wilde Section. And don't fool yourself. This is a damn important scouting mission.
After all he was determined to find it. Or at least a place to play it. His first attempt didn't go so well and hell if he was giving up. Sheppard had to have some kind of one up on McKay if he ever managed to show up. Sure, the guy was a Canadian and didn't like the sport, but this was a matter of personal pride! Well. Maybe it would be better to find it in case Ronin ever showed up.

He had one set up in Atlantis. Made perfect sense to him to find some place to do a few swings here. Now that the crisis apparently with Kirk's "would be daughter" was over? He could find a suitable location.
