Tornado Auckland NZ

So yesterday at 3:15 we got a taste of what some of America is going through. We got our first F2 Tornado a in a very long time, I think it's been over 50 years or something since the last one big one we have had smaller ones before, we don't get them, we get other foul weather but not twisters. Wow, I never imagined tornadoes in NZ! How frightening for all of you.

I don't think you need to worry about your volcanoes. I think they're old cones but the land has moved from the magma below the surface ... it's inland, more around Taupo that would be a concern. Don't think they'd all go at once, either, even if one did. Do you have earthquakes in the Auckland area? I'm more familiar with them in the south of the North Island where one island is ramming itself under the other.

Some of our Volcano are active they are not dead we have Ranitototo Island and many other most are just sleeping no we don't get earthquake up this end but we could with the planet changing been in one once and that was enough for me Star

Our local (Oklahoma USA) news showed quite a long video of your tornado as it whirled along. (Our local weathermen always like to show us tornadoes in other countries then say "It's not just us!" like that's some kind of consolation).

Just learn today one of the girls in my maths class was at Pak and save or as we call it slack and slave. She was working and had just starting her break and she told that she was one of the lucky one that her car was still parked where she left it and one of her friends worked in the mall as well
