Obama demonstrated again that he has no idea how to talk to feminists (other than, perhaps, his wife). Someone should hit him with a cluebat until the fact that "feisty" is about as polite a descriptor of a woman as "uppity" is.

Way back in January, I was full of hope. There were three candidates for the Democratic nomination, all of whom gave me hope in one or more ways. Can I just say that I'm about as pleased with the idea of Joe Biden as Obama's VP as I am about this headline: McCain chides a newly feisty Obama as 'testy'? Joe Biden is about as appealing as Joe Lieberman, especially given that Biden figures prominently in the "why plagiarism is bad" lecture my students get every year. So... I've been rereading Swtalmnd's A Question of Etiquette (warning: pretty heavy kink, mild chan, teacher/student UST), and thinking about the possibilities of card games in code phrases.
